Celebrity tools on the box

Discovery Channel viewers watching the new DIY series
"The House John Built" see presenter Johnny
Revell putting the latest cordless timberwork power
tool technology from ITW Construction Products through
its paces in October.
Ex-Virgin Radio presenter Johnny Revell is no stranger
to the tools of the trade, having served his carpentry
and joinery apprenticeships before finding fame on TV
and radio - along with co-presenter and close friend,
John Lofthouse.
The action takes place over five hours at the 16th
Century Surrey farmhouse home of Johnny's family, with
the two Johns Revell and Lofthouse using six different
power tools by ITW Construction Products. When the going
gets tough, you can't miss the bright orange colour
of the tough cordless tools that the two Johns get going
with.
The Paslode Impulse IM350 was used for first-fixing
structural timbers; the Paslode Impulse IM250 for second-fix
detail finishing work; the Pulsa 1000 gas powered tracking
tool for fixing drywall track to steel and concrete;
the recently launched Pulsa 700E nailer for fixing electrical
services to steel and concrete; the 327 24V electro-mechanical
hammer for drilling concrete and masonry where power
wasn't readily available and the 215 Drywall speedtip
screwgun for high volume installation of drywall and
Teks self tapping screws.
"This programme involves some serious building
work, instead of just fancy makeovers," said ITW
marketing manager Paul Walsh. "In the real world
of building, speed and ease of use are the top priorities
when it comes to the tools used. If the presenters can
work faster and better with gas power tools instead
of a hammer, then that's why you'll see them being used
in the show."
